Government Approvals
The Government of Alberta has granted DeVry Institute of Technology approval to award the following baccalaureate degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, and Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology.
The Government of Alberta has granted DeVry University (Arizona) approval to offer the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology (CET)*, and Bachelor of Science in Network and Communications Management programs at DeVry's Calgary campus. These programs fall under the accreditation of DeVry University (Arizona) as an off-site instructional location.
Accreditation
The Computer Engineering Technology (CET)* and Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) programs are accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB). CTAB is a standing committee of the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists (CCTT). The board was created by CCTT in 1982 to promote excellence in technical education across Canada by furthering the standards used to certify individual technicians and technologists, and by the National Accreditation Program, which is used to evaluate applied science and engineering technology programs.
Organized to establish technician and technologist as professions, all provincial constituent members set standards for professional conduct and practice under the National Transferability Agreement governed by CCTT. ASET is the official certifying body for graduates from accredited programs, such as DeVry CET* and EET programs in Alberta. DeVry graduates are eligible for certification as technologists after two years of appropriate work experience.
The Canadian Institute of Marketing (L'Institut Canadien du Marketing, www.cinstmarketing.ca) accredits DeVry Insitute of Technology's Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with specialization in Sales and Marketing. This grants graduates at least Graduate membership (or Associate or Professional membership), based on academic achievement in marketing and length and depth of experience.
In the United States, DeVry University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC/NCA), www.ncahlc.org. The University's Keller Graduate School of Management is included in this accreditation.
HLC is one of six regional agencies accrediting U.S. colleges and universities at the institutional level; is recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation; and accredits approximately one-third of U.S. regionally accredited public and private institutions.
* The CET degree program at DeVry's Calgary campus is no longer available for enrollment by new applicants. However, the program remains active for currently enrolled students and is accredited by CTAB.
