Both scholarships and grants are gifts that you do not have to pay back. DeVry offers more than $29 million in scholarships to prospective students in Canada and the U.S. One of our most unique awards is the Employment Gap Scholarship, which was created to serve the needs of recently displaced workers.
Basic Scholarship Eligibility
To qualify for a DeVry scholarship, students must meet all of the following criteria as well as meet criteria outlined for each scholarship award. Students may also be required to meet additional criteria.
- Students must have applied for admission to DeVry Calgary.
- Students must have met DeVry entrance requirements.
- Students must be Canadian or permanent residents.
- Scholarship recipients must attend DeVry in the country in which they are citizens or permanent residents, or must attend online.
General Scholarship Policies
- Scholarship recipients are responsible for all other educational expenses.
- Only degree seeking students enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester will receive a scholarship award unless otherwise noted in the criteria
- Students who fall below half-time enrollment (less than six credit hours per semester) do not receive the scholarship.
- To qualify for scholarship funds, students must maintain continuous enrollment on a semester basis.
- Students may only take one semester off during their enrollment.
- Students eligible for multiple special tuition rates, pricing programs or scholarships receive the one most beneficial.

Presidential Scholarship
The prestigious Presidential Scholarship provides half tuition for its exceptional high school graduate recipients.
Open to all 2011-2012 high school graduates who meet the following criteria:
- Recognized as a Herman DeVry Scholarship winner by March 5, 2012
- Minimum of 3.33 CGPA (on a 4.0 scale) and in the top 50% of graduating class (where possible). 73% on a 100 pt. scale.
- CPT composite score of 320 or higher
- Selected by local campus committee on essay, GPA, and teacher recommendation
Deadline: Verification documentation (student essay and letter of recommendation from a teacher) must be submitted to local scholarship committee by April 11, 2012 for consideration. Those chosen have one year from high school graduation to apply and start at any DeVry University location.
Award amount: Half tuition (valued up to $32,500)

Herman DeVry Scholarship
This merit award provides tuition assistance and, provided all eligibility requirements are met, allows recipients to apply for the prestigious Presidential Scholarship.
Eligibility:
- Open to all 2011-2012 high school graduates and GED recipients
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (78% on a 100 point scale) or,
- GED score of 3000 (68% for Canadian students) or
- A CPT score of 320 or higher
- ACT composite score of 22 or higher or SAT combined math and critical reading of 1000 or higher.
Deadline: Recipients have one year from high school graduation or GED completion to apply and start at any DeVry University location.
Award amount: $1,500 per semester (valued up to $13,500)
Number available: Unlimited, until scholarship dollars of $6.7 million are exhausted

Continued eligibility: Must maintain a 2.5 CGPA and be enrolled in 12 credit hours per semester
Cisco Scholarship
This scholarship helps pay for a technology degree qualification that adds unmatched value to your resume.
Open to all 2011-2012 high school graduates, GED recipients, and community college students who meet the following criteria:
- Successfully completed one of the following Cisco Network Academy programs:
- IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software
- CCNA Discovery/Exploration/Security
- CCNP
- CompTIA A+
- CCENT
- Minimum 2.8 Cumulative GPA
- GED recipients must have a score of 3000 or higher
- Accepted into and have begun studies in one of the following DeVry University colleges:
- College of Health Sciences
- College of Engineering and Information Sciences
- College of Media Arts and Technology
Deadline: Recipients have one year from high school graduation or GED completion to apply and start at any DeVry University location.
Award amount: $2,000 per semester (valued up to $18,000)

Community College Scholarship - NEW!
This award provides tuition assistance for new degree seeking undergraduate students who received an Associate degree from an accredited school or university.
Open to all Associate degree graduates who have earned a minimum of 2.8 CGPA (on a 4.0 scale).
Deadline: Scholarship applications must be received prior to the start of classes at DeVry
Award amount: $2,000 per semester ($18,000 lifetime cap)
Number available: Unlimited, until scholarship dollars of $500,000 are depleted

- Enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester
Employment Gap Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to help displaced workers obtain the education they need to better compete for available positions or to retrain for a new career.
Open to new and current undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following criteria:
- Currently displaced, have a spouse that is displaced or have a parent that is a displaced worker (dependent students only), at the time of application (not eligible if terminated or voluntarily left a job) and can provide proof of unemployment
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any other required financial aid forms; Canadian students should apply for financial assistance through their province (US recipients chosen based upon Expected Family Contribution (EFC); Canadian recipients chosen based upon need)
- Current students who have not applied prior to beginning courses can only be awarded going forward. Retro-active funds will not be awarded for any prior sessions.

Award amount: $1,000 per semester (valued up to $9,000)

Education Now Allowance
This scholarship provides reduced tuition for new undergraduate and graduate students who are employed at an educational institution.
Open to all new undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following criteria:
- Full-time employee at any educational institution (DeVry Inc. employees are not eligible)
- Complete Education Now Employment Verification Form
- Enroll as full-time or part-time, matriculating or non-matriculating student
Deadline: Must apply prior to class start date
Award amount: 10% off prevailing tuition rate
Number available: Unlimited
Offered: United States and Canada, onsite or online
Continued eligibility:
- Must maintain a 2.5 CGPA.
- A completed Education Now Employment Verification Form prior to each semester submitted to the Campus Registrar, Campus Director or Center Dean. Online students should email completed form to registrarrequests@devry.edu
- Must enroll in at least 9 credit hours per semester
Transfer Scholarship
This scholarship provides tuition assistance to community college students who want to earn a bachelor's degree at DeVry University.
- Earned at least 20 transferable credit hours accepted into the student's program of study
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
Number available: Unlimited, until scholarship dollars of $8.7 million are depleted
