International Students FAQs
When should I apply?
Once you have verified that you meet all the international students requirements for admission as an international student, you may begin the admissions process. Keep in mind that if you apply before you have completed high school or secondary school, you must submit an official transcript upon graduation. See academic requirements for more information on high school/secondary school documentation.
How long does the application process take?
Between mailing and processing, you'll want to allow at least a month, preferably two, before the orientation date to complete the application process. This includes completing and mailing your application, application processing at DeVry, receiving your acceptance and making housing arrangements. All of the admission international students requirements should be completed before you begin the application process.
What happens if I miss a deadline?
If your application materials arrive too late for the start date you indicate on your international student application, you will automatically be considered for the next start date. Final decisions on start dates are determined by DeVry Calgary.
How do I apply if I will be transferring from another school in Canada?
Students who have already entered Canada on a study permit and who are transferring from another school must have all the necessary documentation up-to-date and ready to submit to their DeVry campus representative. In addition to the regular requirements and documentation necessary for enrollment at DeVry, we will also need a copy of your most recent study permit and transcripts from the previous school.
When will I know I am accepted?
Once your application has been processed and all necessary documentation has been received and approved, a DeVry admissions packet will be sent to you from the International Student Response Unit. This packet will include:
- A confirmation of enrollment letter
- A campus specific information sheet
- Other relevant information pertaining to housing, arrival, etc.
It is very important that your application and documentation be complete and accurate when they are submitted. Incomplete documentation will delay processing your international student application and may result in you missing your selected start date.
Note: International students who do not have the required English language proficiency but do satisfy all other academic and financial criteria will be issued a Conditional Letter of Acceptance by DeVry and will be provisionally enrolled. The Conditional Letter of Acceptance specifies that you are eligible for admission to DeVry once you reach the desired minimum level of English proficiency. In order to verify this, you must provide official documentation from your ESL school.
